As President & Executive Director of The Ability Experience, Basil is employed by and reports directly to The Ability Experience Board of Directors. He is responsible for the overall operation of the organization including staffing, programming and finances, and also attends all board meetings and board-related functions. Basil enjoys working with the men of Pi Kappa Phi and watching them develop in mind, body and spirit through the service of people with disabilities.

Basil rejoined The Ability Experience staff after serving as the executive director of 24 Hours of Booty for six years. In this role, Basil helped to expand the organization into four cities with more than 2,000 people raising $2.5MM for cancer survivorship and research. Additionally, Basil was named a Distinguished Young Alumnus by his alma mater and was a finalist for the Charlotte Chambers Young Professional of the Year. Prior to joining 24 Hours of Booty, Basil was a member of The Ability Experience staff for nine years in a variety of roles including event recruitment, program management, logistics and financial development.

A graduate of Central Michigan University, Basil resides in Charlotte, N.C. with his wife Michelle and two children, Emma and Luke. Basil is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte Class 36, serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Charlotte Chapter, is a member of F3 and enjoys running, having completed six marathons including three to benefit The Ability Experience.
