Rob Robillard, known as the Concord Carpenter to his blog, newsletter and CCTV program followers, first became aware of the Build America (BAM) program thanks to a one-time employee and current website collaborator Phil Benevides. Benevides, who founded the UMass Amherst Pi Kappa Phi chapter in 2006, said he knew Robillard would be supportive of the organization, especially since he had already installed a snow-melting accessible ramp for a community member this past winter.
