Cyclists traverse the country to raise awareness for people with disabilities

They started their trip in Seattle, Wash. on June 2 and will end in Washington D.C. on Aug. 8. This year there are 20 cyclists and eight crewmembers participating from over ten States.

The most recent leg of their journey was the 125-mile trip from Casper to Wheatland on paved back roads. On Saturday, the group set off for Cheyenne.

Francis Ahrens, one of the cyclists, described how the trip was a mental game.

“By the eightieth mile you’re out of it and you have to find a strength and your second wind to stay in the game; you have to remember why you’re doing it,” Ahrens said.
