Fraternity Men Coming To Lake Of The Ozarks To Help Disabled Kids

This team is participating in The Ability Experience’s Build America, a summer long event traveling the country to build accessible camp structures like nature trails, ramps, and playgrounds for children with disabilities. Throughout the building process, the team develops friendships with campers and engages in daily camp activities.

While at Wonderland Camp, the Build America team will construct a waterfront accessible nature trail. Wonderland Camp provides a fun and educational camp experience for people who have disabilities and a respite from daily care giving for their families. They serve people of all ages and offer many accessible outdoor activities.The Build America team consists of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity men from across the country. The team will start in Boston, visit 17 cities across nine states, and will finish in Washington, D.C. on August 8.

Every team member commits to raising a minimum of $4,000 on behalf of people with disabilities in hopes to enhance their quality of life. Throughout the summer, the team saves local camps and communities approximately $50,000 in labor costs and $30,000 in material expenses while impacting the lives of thousands with disabilities.
