Group of cyclists stops in Cedar Rapids on cross-country fundraising trip

The project is called The Ability Experience’s Journey of Hope. Pi Kappa Phi brothers from the organization’s various chapters travel across the country from the west coast to Washington, D.C. on bicycles. Twenty-seven cyclists and nine crew members of the “North group” made a pit stop Monday afternoon in Cedar Rapids, a brief respite while on their 3,600-mile ride.

The group had a dance party at The Arc of East Central Iowa, 680 Second Street SE, to celebrate riding the 85 miles from Marshalltown. Michael McAllister, a Pi Kappa Phi brother from Drake University, said he enjoys the opportunity to helping people with disabilities.
