Cyclist Making Coast-To-Coast Trek Make Stop At Children’s Therapy Clinic

WCHS ABC 8

The Journey of Hope Trans-America team stopped to visit the Children’s Therapy Clinic in Cross Lanes. It’s part of a trek organized by The Ability Experience to raise money and awareness for people with mental and physical disabilities. Each cyclist raised $5,500 to be a part of the ride. This year’s team raised a total of $580,000. Members said it’s rewarding when they meet the people they are helping.

“When I walk inside, see the smiles on the kids’ faces, seeing the smiles on the clients’ faces. Whenever we walk into an occupational therapy center or something like that, knowing that we’re making a difference, truly making a difference in these people’s lives, even if just for a day,” Scott Snodgrass from Texas Christian University said.

The group’s next stop is in Beckley. When it finishes its journey, the team will have traveled a total of 4,200 miles from Seattle to Washington, D.C.
