Riding across America, support is key

 

More than 70 people lined up outside the Hotel Grand Conference Center to welcome the Journey of Hope bicycle team to town. People cheered when they caught sight of the wheeled warriors, who are strong supporters of people with disabilities. Each stop along the way is called a friendship visit.

To make it from coast to coast, the bicyclists have to encourage each other, said Adam Brown of the University of North Georgia. Each of the 29 cyclists will have a day when he’ll be the weakest rider in the group.
