THE ABILITY EXPERIENCE AWARDED CHARITY NAVIGATOR 4-STAR RATING

We are delighted to announce that The Ability Experience has received four stars, the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator, for sound fiscal management and a proven commitment to accountability and transparency.

Our 4-star Charity Navigator rating shows our supporters that we take our fiscal and ethical responsibilities very seriously,” said Basil Lyberg, CEO of The Ability Experience. “We want all of our donors to know that we’re using their donations wisely and efficiently to help create lasting shared experiences for our student members and our friends with disabilities. A GIGANTIC thanks to all of our supporters for their trust in us to build a more inclusive world.

Since 2002, using objective, data-driven analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, to its ratings methodology.  These “Accountability & Transparency” metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities have “best practices” that minimize the chance of unethical activities and whether they freely share basic information about the organization with their donors and other stakeholders.

Charity Navigator evaluates more than 1.5 million American charities.

It’s important our donors trust that we’re using our funding wisely to accomplish our mission to provide shared experiences that transform lives,” said Russ Faulkner, Board Chairman, The Ability Experience “In today’s post-pandemic world, our 4-star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters that we take our fiduciary and governance responsibilities very seriously.

Donors can give with confidence and are encouraged to review our financials here.
