Running for Inclusion at the Gate River Run 15k

On Saturday, March 20, The Ability Experience teamed up with friends from Challenge Enterprises of North Florida for the Gate River Run 15k in Jacksonville, FL. Fielding a group of 24 athletes with and without disabilities, the teams set out to spread a message of inclusion by running the 9.3 mile course.

The team braved the gusty winds alongside more than 8,000 other runners. While many of those runners were aiming for a personal best, our five Push Assist / Duo Teams were enjoying the challenge of the day and getting to know their new friends through this shared experience!

While the race took place on March 20, the team had been hard at work for months preparing for the event. Fundraising and training for the team kicked off back in January. Collectively, the team has raised over $10,000 for The Ability Experience. As a small token of appreciation for the partnership with Challenge Enterprises, The Ability Experience awarded them with a $1,500 grant!
