Journey of Hope

Redefine What You’re Capable Of

Every summer, around 50 Pi Kappa Phi men take on one of the most unforgettable adventures of their lives — a coast-to-coast cycling journey unlike anything else. With two routes launching from the West Coast and covering more than 8,000 combined miles, the Journey of Hope is more than just a physical challenge — it’s a mission to build relationships, raise awareness and celebrate the abilities of all people. Along the way, you’ll connect with individuals in the disability community whose strength and spirit will inspire you every step of the way. The experience culminates on the steps of the U.S. Capitol — but it transforms you long before you get there.

More than a Ride — It’s a Mission

Isolation affects far too many people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope is about showing up — not just physically, but emotionally — for those who often feel unseen. After averaging 75 miles on a bike each day, our teams arrive at Friendship Visits ready to celebrate life: dancing, laughing, leading campfire songs and creating joy with our friends in the disability community. For many of them, our visit is a highlight of the year.

Each mile brings more than personal growth — it raises awareness, delivers funding and spotlights the organizations that make a difference every day. The Journey of Hope is your chance to ride for something bigger than yourself.

What You’ll See — and Who You’ll Become

How many people can say they crossed the country by bike? Not many. Even fewer can say they did it for a cause that changed lives, including their own.

Each route offers its own unforgettable challenges and awe-inspiring sights. Climb the elevations of Kirkwood or Loveland Pass. Roll through Yellowstone or down the streets of Chicago. From small towns to major cities, from grueling climbs to golden descents, every day on the road teaches you something new about yourself.

Where You’re Going — and Who You’re With

The finish line isn’t just Washington, D.C. — it’s the beginning of something even greater. At the end of your ride, you’ll join the Pi Alpha Society: a brotherhood of more than 3,000 servant leaders who have taken this journey before you. These are men who lead with humility, impact their communities and succeed with purpose — in business, in service and in life.
