Day 38: Cedar Rapids Iowa, July 16th 2019

Today, we rode from Marshalltown to Cedar Rapids for a typical 85 miles. The ride itself was brutal. It was long and felt longer due to the rolling hills and the surprisingly intense Iowa heat. After a couple hours of biking hard and sweating harder, the team arrived at Cedar Rapids and were able to take some time to rest and relax at the Arc of East Central Iowa. Some of the team got some well deserved rest while others went out and explored the town. Once our freetime ended we were provided a wonderful taco dinner and then danced the night away with the participants at the Arc. Unfortunately we started to get rained on but that didn’t and doesn’t stop us as we continued the party and wrapped up our visit with karaoke inside the Arc. After that we hung out for a little while and then got some rest for our 30 mile day into Iowa City.
