July 13, 2017 – Stephenville, TX to Fort Worth, TX – 55 miles

We started the ride to Fort Worth with a nice breakfast during sunrise. We had about 55 miles, the majority being one road. It was a beautiful morning to bike and a great ride, the skies were clear and the weather was cool with no wind (a pleasant change of pace). Our pace-line moved pretty quickly due to the smooth roads with some rolling hills to build up speed. One of the highlights of the day was meeting up with Betsy Price, the mayor of Fort Worth, for the ride into town.

We arrived to an excited group near TCU with Austin’s Underdawgs food truck waiting to serve us lunch… a delicious lunch at that. The team was excited for our evening plans as we headed to a shooting range for dinner and some fun  courtesy of the Walton Group. Overall, the ride to Fort Worth amounted to two personal milestones: the first being our 2,000th mile and the second being the first time I shot a gun.
