July 14, 2017 – Fort Worth, TX – 0 miles

Today we had a great day off in Fort Worth! We just hit our halfway point on the trip for days and miles. It’s crazy to think how fast this trip has gone by!

We had a beautiful 7:30am wake up. It’s crazy as college students to think that 7:30am is now sleeping in for us. Once we started moving, we had some great donuts and coffee provided by the Walton family. We then traveled to Arlington to do an event on University of Texas Arlington’s campus. The Mayor’s Committee for people with disabilities set up a wheelchair basketball game against the defending and 8 time national champions, the Moving Mavericks. Needless to say, we learned a lot and got beat even more. They were so gracious to serve us some great Texas BBQ while we were there.

Later in the afternoon we headed over to the Walton’s family home, who opened up their doors to our whole team and our family members. Some guys got to get a swim on while others just relaxed with their families. We were lucky enough to be served our first steak of the summer, and man was it cooked to perfection. It is so great to have sponsors like the Walton family who take such amazing care of us.

We are truly blessed for these opportunities that are presented to us. I am very excited to see what the second half of this trip has to hold for this team as we become even more of a family. Stay tuned to see what’s to come in our 2nd half!
