14-Jun-17

June 14th, 2017 – Long Beach, CA

One more day. That’s all I could think when I rolled out of bed this morning. The crew members have been preparing for kickoff for almost three weeks and we are officially less than 24 hours away from the riders clipping in on their way to D.C.

Today was a relatively laid back day in comparison to the practice ride and friendship visit we had yesterday but there is a definite sense of excitement that could be felt throughout the team. The day’s events included taking the official team picture on the bank of the Las Angeles River and celebrating our departure with an Ability Experience sponsored dinner at Acapulco Mexican Restaurant. Today gave the team a chance to connect with their families, make any last minute supply runs, and enjoy a little free time before the kickoff tomorrow.

For now, I look forward to kickoff and I’m thankful for the opportunity to get in the proper mindset to embark on this journey.
