Today is the day I have been waiting for since our departure from Seattle. Today we rode into Boulder, CO where I attend school at the University of Colorado. I woke up this morning with a little more energy than usual. Me and the other three CU guys were pleasantly surprised to hear the song Closer by the Chainsmokers being played on repeat by the crew chief van during our morning breakfast.

Closer is one of the most iconic and inspirational songs our generation has ever seen. It really got us in the zone to go out and kill the ride today. After listening to Closer about 11 times, the CU pace line and the entire team was ready to go. Our pace was a little quicker than usual because we all wanted to get back to our roomates back in Boulder. About 20 miles into the ride, the beautiful flat irons were finally appearing in the distance. It was crazy to be riding into Boulder considering we started all the way in Seattle. Today was only 55 miles but it was still a challenging ride as the entire team was anticipating Boulder. It’s great to be back.

Thank you to Ms. Julie Ann Sullivan for breakfast, Douglas Matthews for sponsoring our lunch, and KRG Capital Partners for our delicious dinner. Our journey wouldn’t be possible without your kind hospitality.
