The team made their way to Cheyenne today. Although the mileage was much shorter than what we are used to these days, the ride ended up being more challenging than most of us expected due to wind and fatigue from the 133-mile day yesterday. The Kiwanis Club in Wheatland provided breakfast including breakfast burritos that started the day off right.
We were hosted by the Laramie County Cowbells at the Hereford Ranch in Cheyenne upon arrival. The Cowbells are the local Cattlewomen’s Association. The lunch was incredible and we shared stories with the local ranchers whose families have been raising cattle in this area for generations. We were especially lucky that the Hales family graciously hosted the event at the beautiful Wyoming Hereford Ranch, which is the longest continuously running cattle ranch in the country. Sloan Hales, the owner, shared the history of the ranch and Hereford cattle in the United States with us.
We later had a wonderful dinner with the ARC of Laramie County where we made many new friends while playing corn hole, volleyball, horseshoes, and frisbee.
