Today was our third day of orientation. We started the morning with programing about safety and proper mentalities to maintain throughout the trip. We then examined the mission statement of The Ability Experience and wrote out our own Team Charter. The whole team really bought into the exercises, we created a list of constructive ideas and goals to reach throughout the summer. Team members added their own personal anecdote including Rob, who rode Gear Up Florida in the 00’s brought the team to tears by talking about one of his rides a few years back with a close friend. We then ate lunch and set out on our first practice bike ride. The ride consisted of 15 miles of rolling hills, a first for many of the riders. Even so, we all completed the ride and maintained a positive attitude. An early night is in store for us as we prepare for our 36 miles practice ride tomorrow!
