August 4, 2017 – Rock Hill, SC to Charlotte, NC – 35 miles
We rode in today from Rock Hill, South Carolina to Charlotte, North Carolina, the ride was shorter and sweeter than North Carolina tea. My beautiful and supreme van #1 who is captained by no one other than Joey Smith our project manager decided to all ride together for the first time. It was a special moment as we passed by the Charlotte Douglas International airport and were greeted by our captain. The team rode into the Holy Angels center and had an amazing dance party with the whole group. We even got to enjoy the shade and comfort of a over hang that was built as a Build America Project! It was cool to meet all of the ability experience administrative staff who have been working behind the scenes to help support our trip and make it possible. To end the day the team was lucky enough to be invited to Joe Costner’s house and enjoy the comfort of Lake Wiley together. We ended the night in lodging at the Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. Charlotte is beautiful and the whole team is excited to visit the national office!
