Today I was blessed with the honor of riding into my home state and college town. Our team was surprised at the state line by a Pi Alpha and Colorado State alum’s parents. The Heikens greeted us at the state line with some homemade banana bread which was Ana amazing way to start the ride. The ride continued as we crossed through farmland of northern Colorado headed towards Fort Collins. Upon seeing the large white A on the side of Horsetooth filled me with joy to know I was home.

Our team was treated to another surprise when we received a visit from the Mayor of Fort Collins, Wade Troxell. He proclaimed July 2nd to be Ability Experience day in honor of our philanthropy. This was a huge honor and something that was representative of how Fort Collins as a city views the role philanthropies have upon a community. KRG Capital kept the good times rolling as we were treated to the best barbecue in town. They sponsored dinner and catered in Moe’s Barbecue for the whole team which was a fun way to show everyone one of Fort Collins’ hot spots. I knew that this ride would always be memorable for me for so many reasons and I’m glad I was able to show the rest of the team where my Pi Kapp experience first began.
